Ideal candidates are non-smokers, who are in good health and have realistic goals in mind for the improvement of their appearance. Individuals looking to enhance specific facial features, restore facial symmetry, or address areas of volume loss are often good candidates. Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid dermal fillers.

Results typically last anywhere from 6 to 18 months. The longevity can vary based on the filler used and the area of injection. Movement can break down the filler quicker, so you may need more frequent injections around the mouth compared to other areas. Many factors such as metabolism, lifestyle choices, and sun exposure can influence the longevity of the results. Over time, the body gradually metabolizes the filler, and the effects diminish. Maintenance treatments are typically needed to sustain the desired results.

Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment. If medically appropriate, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 5–7 days prior to treatment to help minimize bruising. Please contact your provider prior to treatment if you are taking prescribed blood thinners. Avoid vaccinations and dental cleanings for 2 weeks before and after treatment. Schedule treatment at least 4 weeks before important events to allow adequate time for healing and follow-up, if needed.

Apply a cold compress as needed. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, excessive heat, and air travel for 24 hours following treatment. If medically appropriate, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 24 hours following treatment.
