How does Radiesse work?
Radiesse contains microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), a biocompatible substance also found in bones, suspended in a water-based gel carrier. Radiesse immediately adds volume to the treated area, due to the gel carrier that contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres, smoothing out wrinkles and restoring facial contours. These microspheres provide a scaffold for tissue regeneration and collagen production. Over time, the body gradually absorbs the gel carrier while collagen forms around the microspheres, further enhancing volume and promoting longer-lasting results. The stimulation of collagen production helps to sustain the improvements in skin texture and volume, making Radiesse a popular choice for facial rejuvenation.
Who is the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate for Radiesse is someone seeking to address moderate to severe wrinkles, folds, or volume loss in areas like the cheeks or hands, with realistic expectations about the treatment outcomes. Patients should be in good overall health, have adequate skin elasticity, and desire a non-surgical option for facial rejuvenation with long-lasting results.
How many treatments will i need?
Typically only one treatment is needed to achieve desired results. Results should last anywhere between 12 and 18 months.
