How Does laser therapy work for vascular concerns?
Our Nd:YAG laser can treat a variety of vascular conditions through a process known as laser photocoagulation. The laser emits a wavelength of 1064 nanometers, which is highly effective in targeting hemoglobin within blood vessels. The light energy emitted by the Nd:YAG penetrates the skin and reaches the blood vessel or spider vein. When the laser light is absorbed by the hemoglobin, The energy generates heat, coagulating the blood within the vein, causing it to collapse, and sealing it closedThe blood is rerouted to deeper blood vessels, and the damaged vein slowly disappears as the body sheds the cells naturally. The beauty of the Nd:YAG laser is the surrounding skin and vessels are protected by the custom cooling feature between each pulse of the laser.
Who is the ideal candidate?
Laser vein therapy is ideal for patients with light to moderately pigmented skin (Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV). Candidates should be in good overall health with no contraindications to laser therapy. Patients looking for aesthetic improvements for visible veins and vascular lesions are good candidates for this therapy.
How many treatments will i need?
Patients generally undergo two to five treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart to treat vascular lesions or leg veins until they are no longer visible on the surface of their skin. Usually, there is visible improvement after one treatment, but patients may opt to have additional treatments to further enhance their results.
